View Liverpool routeWhy the origin matters more than people expect
The UK leg is the part of a Spain move that customers think about least and that changes the plan most. Where you load from determines which crossing makes sense, whether your job can share a vehicle with other northern pickups, and how much of the schedule is ours to choose rather than the ferry operator's.
Southern origins have the widest choice: short crossings, frequent sailings, and the option of putting the whole run on the road through France. Northern and Scottish origins trade that for a longer UK-side leg, which is why we tend to consolidate them — a vehicle that is already coming south can take your load with it, and you are not paying for an empty run up the M6.
Access matters as much as distance. A third-floor flat on a narrow street with no loading bay is a different job from a detached house with a drive, and the survey exists to find that out before anything is quoted rather than on the morning itself.
